Gravity is running its first official dual-format annual championship for Ragnarok: The New World. The Legend Cup carries a base prize pool of US$1.01 million, with bonus money on top that has no upper limit. Most of that extra cash is funded by the Tournament Pass and the Destiny Imprint event, and the Destiny Imprint is exactly what this guide covers.

If you play in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, or Southeast Asia, you can lock in additional cash rewards before the tournament even starts. The whole process takes a few minutes on the official event page. The rules, however, have a few traps worth knowing about before you commit.

The two formats of the Legend Cup

The championship runs two competitions side by side.

Odin’s Valhalla · Guild Battle is built around the in-game Guild League. Whole guilds fight for regional and global standing, and the Destiny Imprint for this format is made on behalf of your guild, not yourself.

Valkyrie’s Trial · Squad Arena is a dedicated squad competition that runs this November. Teams of players fight through regional qualifiers toward the Global Finals, and imprints here are made in your own name.

Each format gets its own imprint window, its own reward table, and its own settlement rules.

What is Destiny Imprint Event?

Think of the Destiny Imprint as a personal placement target, not a registration and not a bet.

You log into the event page, choose the tournament placement you aim to reach, and complete the imprint. If your final placement meets or beats that target, you collect a cash bonus on top of your tournament winnings.

If you fall short, you get nothing extra. That’s the whole mechanic, and it’s worth reading the fine print, because three details change how you should play it:

  1. Beating your target does not move you up a tier. Pick 33rd-64th and finish top 8, and you still collect the 33rd-64th reward.
  2. Missing your target means zero bonus. There is no partial payout.
  3. You can hold only one valid Destiny Imprint qualification per player, game account, and tournament identity.

The takeaway: pick the tier you are genuinely confident you will reach, not the one you hope to reach. There is no upside to an aggressive pick beyond the obvious one, and a missed pick pays nothing.

How to participate in Destiny Imprint event?

The steps are short, but the eligibility check comes first.

How the Legend Cup Destiny Imprint works in five steps: check region, log in, pick target, complete imprint, compete
  1. Confirm your region. The event is open only to eligible players in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia.
    • Steam users who meet the tournament requirements are automatically counted in the Southeast Asia region.
  2. Log in on the official event page with the account you intend to compete on. The imprint account must match your actual tournament account, or the qualification is invalidated at verification.
  3. Pick your target placement from the Valkyrie’s Trial reward table below.
  4. Complete the imprint in your own name for Squad Arena, or on behalf of your guild once the Guild Battle imprint opens.
  5. Compete and finish. Settlement happens after the official roster lock and final results are confirmed.

Note: the Destiny Imprint is a bonus event, not tournament registration. You still have to register in-game and make it through the normal qualification process.

The rules that trip players up

Roster lock is the settlement basis.

  • Squad Arena rewards are paid against the officially confirmed locked team roster and final placement. Guild Battle rewards follow the locked guild roster. Member changes, withdrawals, and even name changes after the lock can affect your eligibility, and official review prevails.

Account identity must match.

  • If the account, character, team, or guild on the imprint doesn’t match what shows up at final verification, the qualification is void.

Cheating kills the bonus.

  • Account piloting, account trading, trading reward eligibility, malicious forfeiture, bug exploitation, and any behavior that compromises fairness can get your imprint revoked and already-paid rewards recovered. The organizers keep the right to claw back money they’ve already distributed.

FAQ

Do I still need to register for the tournament separately?

Yes. The Destiny Imprint is a bonus event and does not count as official in-game tournament registration. Registration, team or guild roster lock, and official review all still apply.

Can I change my imprint target after locking it in?

The rules don’t describe any change mechanism, so treat the imprint as final. If you’re unsure, pick the safer tier or wait for a later official announcement.

What if I finish above my target?

You still get the reward for the tier you selected. Placement above your target does not auto-upgrade you to the next bracket.

Can I make imprints for both the Squad Arena and Guild Battle?

The rules allow only one valid Destiny Imprint qualification per player, account, and tournament identity. Plan which format matters more to you before committing.

What happens if my team or guild changes after roster lock?

Settlement is based on the officially confirmed locked roster. Member changes, withdrawals, and name changes can affect reward eligibility, and the final call belongs to the organizers.

Is the Destiny Imprint a wager?

No. You’re setting a personal placement target, and the bonus pays only if the official result meets it. There’s no stake to lose beyond the qualification itself.

Bottom line

The Legend Cup is the biggest official Ragnarok tournament Gravity has run, and the Destiny Imprint is a rare chance to guarantee yourself extra money for a placement you expect to reach anyway. Decide which format matters to you, pick a realistic tier, keep your account identity clean, and Guild Battle matches run from November 10, 2026 to the Grand Final in March 2027, and the imprint window opens once the Regional Top 64 roster locks, so keep the December dates clear.
